Advantages of a product: First of all, the advantages of any
particular product should be written on the sale letter, this usually decides
the length of a letter. If the advantages are more than it will make long sales
letter whereas if the advantages are less than the sales letters will be short.
Specific points: There are many types of sales letters
which cover only specific points or only relevant information while there are
also many other sales letters which consist of so much writings as well as
lengthy paragraphs. If there is only specific information provided in the sales
letter than it will be a short sale letter, On the other hand, if there are
many paragraphs written in the sale letter than it would be a long sale letter.
Visual or Graphic effects: A well written sale letter consists
of many visual effects like headings, subheadings, bold letters, underlining,
italicizing, CAPITALIZING etc. if a sale letter involves additional visual
effects than there will be a long sale letter, however if it includes less
visual effects than it would be a short sale letter.
WRITING STYLE: If a writer is giving two or three
opening paragraphs, double spacing between paragraphs, paragraph contains of 10
or 11 lines, additional commas etc. than it is going to be a long sale letter
and on the alternative side if there are less spacing between paragraphs and
the paragraphs are no longer than 6 lines each than it will become a short sale
letter.
